White
Was I colourblind my whole life?
How did I miss the colours in your eyes?
The quiet storms of blue and gold,
Stories that your silence tried to hide?
I saw the world in black and white,
Chasing shadows, blind to your light.
But now I see those eyes holding skies,
And I, too, lost to look inside.
Your laughter, like sunlight breaking through,
I never knew the warmth was you.
Each time I turned away too soon,
Missing the brilliance in your tune.
Now I stand, and suddenly I see,
The colours you always showed me.
A thousand sunsets, soft and bright,
That I mistook for an endless night.
Was it the world that lacked its hues?
Or was I just too blind to choose
To see the beauty in your gaze,
The colours blooming through your days?
Maybe I was never colourblind.
Just too afraid to lose my mind
To something as beautiful as you
But now, I’ll never lose that view.
