। ©Himanshi Bharti

White "The Brahmin who could not eat -3" "Hmm! All right. Lakshmi, you are the Goddess 😇 of wealth and good luck! You go and convince the Brahmin to release Bidhata," said Lord Vishnu. So Lakshmi knocked at the Brahmin's door. "Yes? Oh, is it Goddess Lakshmi? How come you are here?" "Release Bidhata," she pleaded. This annoyed the Brahmin who shouted, wife, get me a broom 🧹 to spank this self-assuming Goddess! Hearing this, Lakshmi fled. It was then decided to send Goddess Saraswati, the Goddess of education and knowledge to negotiate with the Brahmin. The Brahmin heard her out and again lost his temper. "Get my broom. This Goddess gave me a tough time learning the alphabet. How dare she assume I will listen to her? Saraswati fled too. Lord Shiva decided to give it a try. He too arrived at the Brahmin's doorstep. Now, the Brahmin was an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva. He bowed low and with folded hands, said, "Sire, I am blessed by your presence and cannot refuse to do as you say. But I will have you know how Bidhata spoiled my happiness all these years!" The Brahmin related his plight. Shiva listened intently and when the Brahmin finished, Shiva said, "Yes, I understand. But do as I say and I will give you a permanent abode at Kailash when you need it. The Brahmin acceded and opened his mouth wide to let the frog out. After this incident, things changed for the Brahmin. Poverty did not trouble him and he saw happy times with his family. Eventually, after his demise, he took up permanent residence at Mount Kailash, Lord Shiva's home 🏠! ©Sanjoy Khuman

White "The Brahmin who could not eat -2"

"How is this Brahmin, whom I cursed at birth, enjoying a full meal? I have to do something." He transformed himself into a golden frog and jumped into the fish curry and rice the Brahmin was scooping up! The Brahmin did not see him. Instead, he rolled the frog into a chappati and ate it!
Oh yes! Unwittingly, the Brahmin swallowed the God who had come to stall his meal!
Of course, now there was no stopping the Brahmin from feasting till his stomach was about to burst! Suddenly, the Brahmin heard some noise. "Huh? Is someone calling me?
Oh yes, dear Brahmin! It is Bidhata yelling in your full tummy, begging to be let out.
"Help! Let me out! Let me out!"
The Brahmin curiously cupped his ears and said, "Aiee? Who is calling me?"
"It is me, Bidhata," said the God of Fate. "I am in your stomach. You swallowed me with your meal! Let me out!"
In my stomach? I understand! You must have been skulking around trying to mess up my meal. Ho-ho, I ate you up! Ha-ha-ha! Now stay there, in my tummy! You have given me so much of grief. You deserve to be trapped. Saying so, the Brahmin reached home, not allowing Bidhata to go out! Now when 'fate' is trapped, the repercussions are enormous "We have no one controlling fate, there is chaos everywhere, uttered everyone to Vishnu.

White "The Brahmin who could not eat"

"This child will never eat his fill! His meals will forever be interrupted. Bidhata has ordained it!" an astrologer told the parents of a baby Brahmin boy.
Bidhata was the God of every one's fate. As, the child grew up and he was never able to eat food to a full stomach. One day, the Brahmin was invited to the King's palace for a meal. "Come what may, this time I will eat to my heart 's content," he assured his wife.
The king welcome him and invited him to sit at the banquet spread out for him. The Brahmin began to eat. He took his first bite and "Booom-bang!" A clay pot hanging on the awning above, fell into his plate, shattering it into shards. His meal was ruined! Angry at fate, the Brahmin took out his ire on the servants. Hearing the commotion, the King inquired, "Dear Brahmin, what happened?" The Brahmin showed him the ruined meal.
"Oh no, I am sorry! Please stay for another meal," the King humbly requested.
The King went to the kitchens and himself served the Brahmin. The Brahmin gleefully gorged on to the food.
I guess fate was looking the other way because the Brahmin managed to get into the meal's second course without interruption.
Oh, oh! Suddenly, Bidhata noticed.
