White SOMETHING I LOOK AT-300 BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY Just for a few seconds, or at best a minute, look at me that will surely make my day worth living I will not ask for more I know how precious is time of yours Just a few seconds, a few seconds only that will make the old man dance and smile once more Hope a few seconds may not cost you much if it relates to someone's cheer and tears, anxiety and concern. Someone whose only desire is to see you at the top, to see you move on with a smile and grace on life's lonely corridor If I do not deserve it, a simple gesture which will let me go through my uneventful day and night, why shall I be here, for whom shall I be, better if I wither away forever Each relationship is a beautiful relationship, one does not need to name and define it. It may not be between brother and sister, father and daughter, lover and beloved, but It can be as fulfilling and gratifying as any other relationship provided we know how to live and carry it. White SOMETHING I LOOK AT-292 BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY Waited for you till sunset, but you never responded No matter, it is irony of fate and I truly deserve your indifference The stars twinkled in the sky, the moon brought a smile to a million faces, but I remained in utter darkness looking at the empty sky Evening stepped into the night, but you remained silent. I searched for you here and there, but you were nowhere on my pages The age of the night silently increased so also my loneliness and anxiety. The light was abundant outside. But in my darkness, I was silently looking at my pages hoping for your presence. Morning broke, but you neither turned in nor graced my wishes. There was jubilation all around But I was languishing in my lonely lane From you, I was expecting a wish, a beautiful wish which would have made my day. But it never came my way, never came that unusual shower to drench the dry earth I have learned to live with your indifference I know I deserve it more than anyone else. Sometimes it hurts, but I accept the reality. White SOMETHING I LOOK AT-291 BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY What you say yours is not yours. It is mine, exclusively mine. How can I be an alien to my feelings, my emotions, my anxiety and fear, cheer and tear. I understand the language of your heart, listen to its beats, blend and rhyme with it. It is my heart not yours I know where it aches. How can I ignore the pain, remain indifferent to it, turn a deaf ear to my aching soul and dreaming eyes I feel your feelings Know not how to respond in a world that is unlike you and me. The difference is so much, at least I need one more birth to bridge up Something holds me back. Sometimes my conscience, sometimes my situation and upbringing, but in most of the times, it is me who come on my way. Not so easy to come out of the trap. Not easy to feel blood rushing in your veins when your best is already past Sometimes I think let me silently wither away to come as the man of your choice who deserves you, your love like no one else. My love, will you relish it if I do not remain myself, become someone else with whom my surroundings may not identify?
