White SOMETHING I LOOK AT-288
BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY
Look at me
I am there where
I was long before
silently enduring and relishing
the pangs of your sorrow,
the occasional cheer
that comes in between tears
as mine exclusively mine
I have never turned my back
How can I move away from someone I truly love, someone
with whom I am always with,
someone with whom I will always be?
How can I be indifferent to
someone who is in the inner sanctum of my heart reigning over my body and mind, shining like a golden rose spreading its fragrance all over?
How can I neglect you,
my heart and soul, my life breath,
the flow in my arteries and veins?
How can I lose sight of
that beautiful garden,
the fountain of love
that touched me, touched my body and mind like a handful
of spring in hot summer?
You are that summer shower
which drenched my earth,
that occasional spring
which made me bloom and
look at life through
a pair of young eyes
We are different
coz we are in different situations,
our hearts split into pieces not being able to do justice to our love on one hand and values of society, duties and obligations on the other.
Dreaming is fascinating,
but the reality is something
one has to live with.
You are both in my dreams and reality, may not be the way you want me
