White SOMETHING I LOOK AT-355
BY- SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY
When I look at me
I see a stranger,
a changed man
with a different colour and odour
I ask myself,
am I the same as I used to be
or someone else
with whom I do not identify?
I do not understand
how a desert became a paradise,
a mountain a dancing rivulet,
a man of reason and rationality a fountain of love and positivity
A summer shower drenched me, the winter sun told me, man you are not
what you used to be,
the sweet aroma of spring made me realise there is still time to make a fresh beginning.
It is you, yes it is you
who made an island a big ocean with infinite dreams and possibilities,
an old man counting his days
young once again.
Your touch of grace took me to the days of my youth from where I do not want to come back to the realities of life
It is none else but you
who made me dream and visualise beauty in what I see.
You made me your man.
But my love, I am not the same
with whom once you fell in love and weaved dreams millions.
I am a changed man
Can you love me in my new avatar, a stranger whom you hardly know or should I go back to my old self where nothing mattered except love for each other, where love was a feeling, a consciousness beyond body and mind unparalleled in the history of human evolution.
