Beyond the backyard Beyond the backyard There's a small lake Beyond the tree line Wind makes the leaves shake Behind the lawn out back A lake is full of geese After the many bushes Some ducks can also be seen In the water there's some fish And big snapping turtles Some are called painted The grass around it is very fertile Many creatures come to drink Foxes, Coyotes, and skunks Raccoons and groundhogs Beavers there make their bunks The lake will freeze over soon And the ice becomes strong Skating is a great pastime Millions have done it for so long An assortment of wildlife resides In and beyond the tree line In the lake and surrounding We need them so let's all be kind ©Schizology

The mind When the mind races And so the heart paces When it's in two places You've lost all graces When the mind scatters It's all that matters Your heads on a platter Just like a mad hatter When the mind jumbles Speaking is all mumbles All you do is tumbles From the deep rumbles When the mind speaks Like a floor that creaks If you think that's meek Come and take a peek ©Schizology

The dreams They begin when you are asleep Random images are played out Inside your head so vividly It makes you want to shout It may be a dream of you running To win a race or catch a train Or jumping through a field And it will cause you to strain The heart increases its pace And the body begins twitching The dreams so real and intense In the race you may be finishing A dream could be gentle and calm Of far away places never seen The mind creates a picture Of lands where you've never been Sometimes a dream can be repeated Perhaps it's of something you like So much that your mind goes back Maybe that day you first rode a bike You wake up suddenly and recall A vision so clear in the mind And remember almost every detail What if these things are a sign?
