The heart's unspoken pain
When I'm around her, my heart skips a beat,
I love her deeply, with every fiber complete.
But she's already taken, entwined with someone else,
A harsh reality that cuts through my tender self.
I confessed my feelings, hoping she'd see,
But she gently said no, with a sympathetic plea.
"I respect your emotions," she said with care,
But her heart belongs to another, leaving me bare.
We remain friends, but it's hard to pretend,
My love for her still lingers, a constant trend.
I support her through life's ups and downs,
Hiding my pain, wearing a mask of smiles and frowns.
Her presence haunts me, memories linger near,
A bittersweet reminder of what could never be clear.
I'm by her side, through every joy and strife,
But my love's not meant to be her guiding light.
Why can't I let go? Why does my heart hold tight?
She's not mine, yet every beat whispers her name tonight.
My love for her remains, an endless refrain,
A heartbreaking echo that refuses to wane.
