"Love Fever Unrequited"
My heart burned with feverish desire,
A flame that flickered, love's sweet fire.
I yearned for you, with every breath,
Longing to connect, to share life's depth.
But alas, my love, it went unseen,
Unrequited, like autumn's fallen leaves.
I searched your eyes, for a spark to gleam,
But found instead, a distant, fading dream.
My soul sang songs, of passion's refrain,
But echoed back, only silence and pain.
I reached for your hand, with tender care,
But found it slipped, beyond my grasp to share.
Time passed, and still, no love to claim,
My fever subsided, leaving only shame.
Yet, in embers, a glow remains,
A memory of love, that still sustains.
